How to Play Connections
Goal: find all four groups of 4 related words. You have 4 mistakes to spare.
Controls: click up to 4 tiles to select them, then click Submit. Click Deselect All to start over. Getting 3 of 4 right in a guess triggers a "One Away!" hint.
Tips:
- Start with the group you're most confident about — usually the most literal, straightforward category.
- Beware overlap traps — a word that seems to obviously belong to one group might actually belong to a trickier one.
- The hardest category is often wordplay-based (like "___ BOARD") — look for words that could all precede or follow the same word.
- If you get "One Away," swap out your least-confident tile before guessing again rather than resubmitting the same four.
