How to Play Word Quest

Goal: guess the hidden word in 6 tries. Each guess must be a complete word of the right length for your chosen difficulty (5 letters on Easy, 6 on Medium, 7 on Hard).

Reading the clues:

• Green — that letter is correct and in the right spot.
• Yellow — that letter is in the word, but in a different spot.
• Gray — that letter isn't in the word at all.

Controls:

• Type letters on your physical keyboard, or click the on-screen keys.
• Click any box in your current guess row to jump straight to it — you don't have to fill boxes left to right.
• Left/Right arrow keys move the selected box without needing to click.
• Enter submits your guess; Backspace (or the on-screen DEL key) clears the selected box.

Tips:

• Open with a word containing several common vowels (like AUDIO or ADIEU) to quickly learn which vowels are in play.
• Don't reuse a gray letter in a later guess — it's already ruled out.
• Got a yellow letter? Try it in a different position next guess rather than dropping it.
• On 6- and 7-letter words, lead with common consonants (like STORE or TRAINED) — more open slots means more information per guess.
• Save your final guesses for words that fit everything you've learned so far, rather than guessing blind.
