🧵 Chain Gang
Rebuild a word chain where each link forms a real compound word or phrase with the one before it — like HOUR, GLASS, ONION, RING.
How to Play Chain Gang
Goal: complete the chain by figuring out every word after the first one, which is given to you. Each word combines with the word right before it to form a familiar compound word or two-word phrase — for example HOUR+GLASS=HOURGLASS, then GLASS+ONION=GLASS ONION, then ONION+RING=ONION RING.
Controls: type a word of the required length that combines with the previous word, then click Add to Chain. Each slot has one specific intended word — a wrong guess doesn't cost you the game, it reveals one more letter of that word, so you're never permanently stuck.
Tips:
- Think in both directions at once — the word you're guessing has to pair naturally with the word already placed above it.
- Say the previous word out loud and try common words after (or before) it — compound words often jump out that way.
- Use the length and the growing set of revealed letters together — a word gets much easier to place once 2-3 letters are visible.
- Longer chains (Hard mode) mean more links to work through, but each one is solvable on its own — you don't need to plan the whole chain in advance.
